Due to the Coronavirus outbreak and the cancellation of classroom-based training, FORS has announced it will be delivering manager training courses online. This will allow operators to maintain the professional development requirements for managers to meet the FORS Standard.
As many existing FORS members will be aware, new training requirements were introduced with the launch of the FORS Standard (version 5) which apply to Bronze, Silver and Gold levels of accreditation. In addition to maintaining the Bronze training requirements, operators looking to achieve Silver accreditation must ensure the relevant manager(s) attend three of the FORS Practitioner workshops namely workshops 2, 5 and 7 or alternative FORS approved courses. Operators wishing to progress to Gold level accreditation must work towards achieving the full FORS Practitioner qualification which involves attending all ten workshops. This has proven to be difficult in many cases due to high demand and a lack of available spaces on the classroom-based courses.
The announcement that FORS will now be delivering these modules online will no doubt be welcomed by operators that have previously struggled to attend the relevant workshops. The full announcement can be found on the FORS website using the link below.
